What is a crown?
A crown, otherwise know as a cap, is a type of dental treatment that covers the entire outer surface of a tooth, from the gum up.
What are crowns made of?
A crown can generally be made out of four different materials:
- Porcelain (The same colour as a tooth)
- Gold metal
- Silver metal
- A combination of metals
What are crowns used for?
- To re-shape a tooth
- To strengthen a tooth
- To improve the appearance of a tooth
How long do crowns last?
- A crown can last anywhere between 10 and 15 years
